Zombies!

Armed and Dangerous
Congratulations! You scored 87%!
You made it out, alive and well supplied. You probably even kept most of your party alive too. You know what to look for, what to take, and when to just run. You even feel a strange inkling to go back. If you did, you'd probably do just fine.

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 97% on survivalpoints

Indiana Jones (Again).

In case anyone notices or cares, sometimes I just kind of fly by the seat of my pants. And of course, by that I mean that lots of titles and posts and such are just spur of the moment blurbs, especially if anyone else is around and I just kinda name it for no reason in particular.
I don't remember if there's anything in particular about which I need to post. Had bible study, that was good. I'm starting working for Tony on Wednesday doing taping (probably in Marysville), woohoo. Hopefully tomorrow is sunny, and we can go walk around and enjoy the sun (picnic, walking, frisbee?, whateva). I'm a big fan of laying down in a grassy knoll on a nice blanket and just philosophising with a good friend (I'm all about the more the merrier, but in this particular case, I'm totally more of a one on oner). By the way, littlest of littles, when are we going to get back around to something of that sort? Rain dance? Sun lay? Couch sit? Walk around?
Anyways, I miss all ye who aren't around me at the moment (Lofties [probably all of whom don't even see this], sister, little friend, D, 1st Belz, my disc-mates [monkey arms in particular][note: not in this order]).
Well, about time to get to compline service. And what better timing, little miss no-memory over here (who just said "Ah, I keep losing track." Coincidence? I think not) is bragging about her and her roomies (both of them are single white females. They enjoy walks on the beach, sunsets, flowers, and ice cream) ability to collect flowers despite their singletude.
HERE WE COME JACOB!

Five Years to Write...

This vulnerability is kiling me internally
Not feeling much stability and i wish it could be easy
But it don't seem to be and so, I'm going to take it to the only place that I know to go
And lay these feelings in the hand of the creator
God of creation you show me how to relate to her
Meanwhile, I'm thanking you for lessons being learned
See my feelings have been shallow but I've watched my heart turn
Yes, she looks good, yes she looks fly
But deep down I know there's something more inside
Just like I'm praying that there's more in me
So when I look at she I just don't see naturally
Not saying physically, that I'll deny the attraction, but all in all that's just a simple satisfaction
That can be obtained through a glance of the eye
This was five years ago, man how time flies by

Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit

A few years later...
Her mind intrigues me
It leaves me sort of sick
Wondering what makes the mystery chic tick, history thick of pages and pages
Telling stories that can't be summed up in quick phrases
She's observant so she's seen my behavior
It's got me nervous wanting to stay away from her
I pray for her daily as well as perspective, battling with pride and thoughts of being rejected and that's just not appealing
It's almost enough to make you disconnect your feelings or something
And try to move on and give them to someone else but yet I care for her more than I care for myself
Man who needs this
I'm not even good with commitments
Plus I value my independence, in the end it's probably just a waste of time spent or maybe there's something more to this relationship

Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit

What's the point of caring when it hurts so much
If this is what love comes with I'd rather not touch it
In all honesty the outcome is uncertain and I do run the risk of walking away hurtin
Searching for clarity, spare me the despair rather be alone and not even care than to share my trust because you can't control fate so maybe I'll be alone but at least it's safe
I know that's stupid
Probably my insecurity
Or maybe God is using this to get through to me
Cuz in the back of my mind I'm always aware of pushing me towards prayer and bettering my character
Making me thing about the man I want to become regardless of the situations outcome
Fast forward a few more years into my life
Man this song about my wife took me five years to write

Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit
I wonder if she'd hear it if I told her that she had a
Beautiful soul full of spirit

Just the Gospel, Stupid...

RUF is good.
Just got back from another sermon from the one and only Ed Dunnington that, once again, hit home. Don't you love/hate it when the pastors sermon is hitting you from every side? It seems like everything he said was right on. My favorite cop-out ("I'm human, that's how I'm supposed to be") was like a butter knife and burnt steak: it just wasn't going to cut it.

"You shall have no other gods before me."
- Exodus 20:3, the First Commandment (title added for no reason in particular)

One verse, eight words, infinite content. Basically, I suck and need to get my act together (what a contrast to previous posts...). I always find some lame excuse. If I do so with a pure heart and intent, it wouldn't be so bad. But, I just always seem to use the same excuses over and over, tried and true.
Fin.
I'm pulling the plug on me (no, not commiting suicide). Time to get my game together; bring in the clutch players; call in the relief pitcher. Find any sort of witty comment/analogy you want, it's go time.

I've been praying to find direction in my life, to see the path set before me.
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
- Psalm 119:105
This I prayed, and it seems it has been answered. The path I've been searching for, pawing desperately for in the dark, is God himself. There have been so many things I've selfishly been praying for, trying to keep a clear mind and pure thoughts, but to little or no avail. So, through God's word in writing and speaking through Ed, I now know what lies before me: I must simply walk the straight and narrow.
Thus begins the next journey in my life, to live for God. I guess I've been doing pretty well to now, but haven't really applied myself. I've always just used faith as, perhaps, an excuse. I have been using God for me, rather than giving myself up - losing my life, to gain His - and using myself for God.

"Again Jesus said, 'Peace be with you! As the father has sent me, I am sending you.' And with that he breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."
- John 20:21-22

Cool Expo!

Just for kicks (and because I wanted to throw up more pictures because I can), I figured I would have a cool expo. "A what?" you may ask? Well, let me tell you. I'm sure many of you out there in the world are wondering to yourselves "where have all the cool people gone?" Well the answer, quite simply, is that I've found them all already. So in reality, the only way in the world you can get all the coolest friends in the world is if you come live with me. But, seeing as that's not an open invitation, you'll just have to deal with it.
The following is by no means the be all end all of this list. There are more people to be included, I just have to get pictures of them all onto my computer.
So, for now, enjoy the coolest people in the world (who are as of now on my computer ;)...

Jujyfruit

Well, the title is just because that's the open box of nasties that lies before me (I had a few back when I got them last winter, but now they just sit and rot their rotty rot).

After glancing at the blogs of several others (namely, those in my linkeroos), I figured "Hey, why not post."

First, my weekend (and week) have been good. My 'sister' was home from school, as was my very good friend (with a bit of a pond seperating us). I must say, every time I see them back home, it reminds me just how much I actually did miss them. I suppose while they're gone, I just kind of focus on myself and those present. I do admit that I miss them, but I just don't really comprehend how much until they get back (you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone).

Second, I've grown in my faith lately.
True, this should be an ever on-going thing, but well, it's not (truth!? human!? what!?). Yes, I'm willing to admit it. 12 step program, you might say, and the first step is admitting I'm wrong (wha!?). Anyways, there have been so many little things in my life (both in the past and lately) that I never saw. But it seems just this weekend I finally realized it was God. Perhaps His way of always having my back. Perhaps His way of showing me he's watching.
Either way, I've grown. I would say I'm proud to say that, but I don't like saying I'm proud of anything being that pridefulness can be bad.

"Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall."
-Proverbs 16:18 NIV

Summary: I've grown in my faith, amen.

Next up is life in general. Well, I suppose this kind of contradicts my previous statements, but so be it (since when am I one to worry about congruence).
I've been struggling a lot lately in life. I feel so much like I have no direction, don't know where to go. I was once walking in darkness, but have found the light, and now walk with Him personally. So, it is not that I'm lost, but perhaps that I am being tried. At least, that's what I like to think it is.
I've felt so much temptation lately. Many times I am able to fight it, or at least most of it. My human nature tends to be the root of it, and so there are so many small things that I give in to say "what will it hurt?" But they do add up. I always see just how much I am giving in as I look back every now and again.
The best way I can try to describe how I feel (to use imagery, if you will): is like a plain, and I can see a plateau above, my destination. But between me lies a dark forest, or really a dark anything. Whatever it is, I can see where I need to get, but the trail there is a difficult, confusing, winding, I-don't-know-what-other-adjectives-I-can-use path.
But, nobody ever said that being Christian makes life a cake-walk (in fact, most believe quite the opposite).

Anyhow, I suppose that'll be my rant for today. Hope anyone enjoys this. Comments are always good.

I guess I should finish up that Photoshop for Brodie so he can have it tomorrow...

Rantings of a Madman.

Life is just on loan, not ours to keep.

Four's a crowd. Three's company. Two's tango.

You've got to fight for your right to party.

Don't let the man bring you down.

Don't let the world decide how you should live your life.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Eat breakfast, it's the most important meal of the day.

Eat lunch, or you'll go hungry until dinner.

Eat dinner.

"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the wise words of someone short:
"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it in front of an adult."

In the wise words of someone tall:
"Everybody move!"

In the wise words of someone dead and risen:
"I am the way and the truth and the life."

Pray.

The Dreaded V-Day

Earlier this week I was told by a good male friend that this Valentine's Day I should curl up in a blanket on a couch, with some kleenex and chocolate and watch a sappy movie. He was saying this because I'm not the type to normally do that sort of thing. Kind of a change of pace sort of suggestion. I don't know if I could handle that. I suppose it would have to depend on the movie. To me, V-day has become waaay too commercialized. Someday, I shall propose to my husband that we change the date to somewhere in September or something. Maybe switch April Fools to February or something. I don't know. I love flowers and chocolate, but I hate the idea of receiving a forced gift. Call me a dreamer, but I hope my husband won't need a day where every other husband is reminded (as well) to get his wife flowers. Is that too much to ask? To be different? Or should I just expect that to come from having a different anniversary as everyone else?? I don't know, just a thought. Enough of this- Two blogs in one day?! No good. I must have Some homework I should be doing!
cheers!

Spring Formal at TWU

On Friday night, February 11, I encounted my first formal event ever. Shocked? Don't be. For this little home-schooler, formal events were scarce growing up. The first time I got to really dress up was for a waltzing party my friends and I held over Christmas Break back in December. Now, the natural progression in place, it was time to move up in the world and on to the school formal. Decked out in what I would say, elegant attire, my suite and another good friend piled (crinoline abounding) into a car and were on our way. We enjoyed a delicious buffet meal - definitely not what we've all become accustomed to in our own wonderful cafeteria. The band that played was akin to Maroon 5 (not too shabby). I'm hoping if I get a hold of some photos, I might be able to send them over to the BAM himself and post them. It is not that I'm technologically challenged (well, I'll always be more so than B...), I just don't want to download the program necessary to upload these things. My computer is, well, it's lacking to say the least. I fear if I put much more on it, it won't wake up in the morning -if you catch my drift. Anyway, that was a major tangent. About the pictures, I'll see what I can do...

RUF Scavenger Hunt. Here is our team (from left to right): Luke, myself and Dan. Clearly, we had the most awesomest team. Technically, we got fourth place overall (out of four teams), but we won best team name (Team One Stop) and funniest picture (a series of 10 photos of a Starbucks Barista). However, I will also add that we had the sweetest music to go with our slideshow, and I also feel people were laughing the longest and hardiest when our pictures were presented.

Another picture from Huckfest. It looks like Nate back there is throwing a pass and I'm knocking it down, but that's not how it is. That leg off on the left threw to this big guy here, and I'm severely thwarting their efforts (I'm pretty sure we beat that team). Long live the disc! Posted by Hello
