I have officially decided to start titling all my posts by the name of a random article from the english Wikipedia, just for fun (unless I already have a good title to use).
Today I decided to break down and buy...TEA! DUM, Dum, dum! I'm trying what I can to get better. I may even steam later (boil some water in the kitchen).
Basically, I went to Sbux on my way back from my bus run this morning, picked up a box of Tazo passion tea and a Top Pot old fashioned donut (memorialis). When I got back, I had my first ever, self-made, voluntary cup of tea! Wowie, wowie, wow. At first, I was still really skeptical. After steeping (ooh, words!) for a couple minutes, it started to smell like what I knew from Sbux (which is somewhat pleasant), but after a couple sips, the flavours were still a bit much for me. Luckily, if I ate some donut and succeeded it with some tea, it was less strong. So, I induced that some sugar in my tea would help, added a couple packets, and it did a little. I'm just going to have to wait for my barista to get home and show me how to prepare a proper cup 'o tea, mayhap in the style of the Scots. Of course, I'll hopefully be better by then anyhow, in which case I wouldn't bother with tea >:).
Oh! Oh! So last night, at Albertson's, I Totally scored on canned food. I got Spaghetti O's (I know, most of you probably think them gross) for 50¢/can, Nalley original chili for $1/can and I cleaned them fresh out of chicken corn chowder at $8/10 (I got the last five). In addition, I searched for a can opener last night. A regular old can opener that works like it should is like $10-14! So, I settled for the ridiculously cheap one at around $1.29. Today, I tried opening a can to no avail. Took it next door, and Ryan figured it out! So now I have this wicked cheap, kinda cool can opener that works! Yay for saving $10 on convenience and vanity!
Next item: reading. I finished Dawn Treader last night waiting outside Crista. It was good imagery to put with the song stuck in my head at the time (On Jordan's Stormy Banks) as I stood outside in the light rain and heavy wind. It was nice being out there by me onesies (though, I did consider that it may not have been the best for my cold), I just wish it would've been raining a bit harder and my hair were considerably shorter (but since it isn't and wasn't, no matter). Tomorrow if I don't see any reasonable difference in my health, I may start the pectin OD, so as to expunge this from me and get on with being healthy. But, we'll see about that tomorrow...
As for now, I've a Silver Chair to read about, maybe some tortilla chips to eat, life to ponder and work to be had (later).
In closing: 4 days.

tea isn't really that bad, is it? i've been enjoying a cup every morning! i can't say that i've learned any tricks just from being here, although it does go so perfectly with the weather here... i may increase my tea consumption when i return...
Bruce, I've had that exact experience with a can opener! I thought, who would ever pay this much for a dumb appliance? and so I bought one at the dollar store. it opened one can and then died. :(
No way! I added honey to mine too!
(I'm still not much keen on tea)
